SubtleNote is built so your meetings stay on your Mac. Here is exactly what happens to your data.

Your meetings

• Audio is processed on your Mac and is not kept. SubtleNote listens to your microphone and your Mac's audio while you record, turns speech into text on-device, and discards the audio. The other side's audio is held in a temporary file during the call so voices can be told apart, then deleted.
• Transcripts and notes are stored only on your Mac, in your user Library folder. Delete a meeting in the app to remove it.
• Nothing from your meetings is sent to us or anyone else. Transcription, speaker separation and the AI notes all run locally.

When SubtleNote uses the internet

• Downloading its AI models the first time it opens (about 3.9 GB) from Hugging Face. No meeting data is sent.
• Activating your licence: your licence key and a device name are checked with Dodo Payments.
• Anonymous usage counts: when SubtleNote is first installed, when it's activated, and once a day when it's opened, it sends a random ID for your Mac and the app version. This lets us count installs and active users. It contains no name, email, licence key or meeting content.

Buying SubtleNote

Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, which receives your name, email, payment and billing details to process the order and send your download link and licence key. We never see your card details.

This website

This site has no analytics or tracking cookies. We count how many times SubtleNote is downloaded, without storing who downloaded it. It is hosted on Vercel and loads the Geist font from Google Fonts, which may log your IP address as part of serving the page.
